This site is colloquial: musings on ideas for entertainment games, some creative writing, and thoughts on practical game design

Everyone I have ever met has found a way to express themselves creatively. We learn as youngsters how to find our expressive voice, and for some that means learning confidence and smack-talk on the court, for others it's the practice of converting an off-white canvas into meaningful colors. I've learned that it can be anything at all, because this is just how humans do...

I was an only child, so I spent quite a bit of my time learning how to entertain myself. This meant figuring out how to convert multiplayer games into single player, or how to explain to friends my complicated designs that made perfect sense to me. It meant thinking about making up rules, and then playtesting to determine whether those rules actually created a worthwhile experience that could burn up the time before mom/dad arrived to take me home. This was not a lonely time -- not at all -- it was just the way I learned to look at the world: how can I make this into a game?

This site is also a personal project, using ASP.NET and C# to develop a fast and responsive MVC-style website from the ground-up, using Piranha CMS as the framework.
